Firmware Upgrade

I would like to upgrade the firmware of my Log4.USB I have a Gen 1 currently running Firmware 0.2.1

I have tried the Mac version of Log4-Analyser under both macOS Catalina and Mojave as well as the Windows version of the app under Windows 10 and in all situations I get the "Have not received heart beat from the backend for a while, the app will be shut down. Message.

Can you help with a firmware update process?

My other related question is from what firmware version does the published serial protocol apply from?
